Broadcast on ESPN for the 21st time in a row, Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest 2024 begins at 10:45 a.m. ET At 3. Episode ESPN with the women’s competition. The men’s competition follows at noon ESPN2Jeremy Schaap and Rich Shea will host the annual Fourth of July event, with additional reporting from Tiffany Greene.
Record holders in the competition include Miki Sudo with 48 ½ hot dogs and buns (set in 2020) and Joey Chestnut with 76 hot dogs and buns (2021). Sudo will defend her title this year, but Chestnut was disqualified from Nathan’s due to a competing partnership with Impossible Foods, breaking his nearly decade-long winning streak. According to ESPN, this year will mark the first new winner since 2016. However, Chestnut will face off against his famous rival Takeru Kobayashi in a special Netflix special – premiering on Labor Day.
