Netflix announces “El Marginal” spin-off series “En el barro”

Netflix, Underground and Telemundo Studios are teaming up for a new spin-off to The Marginalthe successful Argentine series that ran for five seasons (37 episodes) on Televisión Pública Argentina and Netflix between 2016 and 2022.

“But of course Gladys’ story had to continue,” says the CheNetflix post published on July 3 and translated into English: “In the series ‘En el Barro’, a group of women, united by hardship, will face the hostility of the prison regime in ‘La Quebrada.'”

As the post on X suggests, the story continues the story of Gladys Guerra, who appeared in season 1 of The Marginal and was a frequent guest in the remaining seasons.

According to todotvnews.com, Ana Garibaldi, Valentina Zenere, Rita Cortese, Lorena Vega, Marcelo Subiotto, Carolina Ramírez and Ana Rujas will star in the new series. Juana Molina will make a guest appearance alongside Gerardo Romano and Cecilia Rosetto.
