The very first Hagerty Drivers Club Days were a complete success!

The very first Hagerty Drivers Club Days were a complete success!

The first ever Hagerty Drivers Club Days are now behind us and by the numbers, they were a huge success! The Hagerty Drivers Club is for people who love all things cars and we celebrated those members with HDC Days – a weekend of amazing deals on car accessories, cool competitions and epic events and experiences.

“We wanted to recognize our amazing HDC members in a special way, and one day didn’t seem enough,” says Erkin Akbiyik, Director of Membership Affairs. “So we came up with a whole weekend to celebrate.”

In addition to the events, offers and competitions, we also give HDC members the opportunity to be on the cover of the September/October 2024 issue of the Hagerty Drivers Club Magazine. Members can vote for one of three different covers. Voting is open now through July 18. So far, nearly 300 members have cast their votes. Learn more about the cover selection process here. Not a member yet? You can join the Hagerty Drivers Club here!

Here is a snapshot of the HDC Days in numbers:

  • Total number of events: 28
  • Number of HDC members checked in: 1021 (with guests more than 2000!)
  • Total amount saved by HDC members: $12,627.79

Get out and drive competition

We knew not everyone could attend one of our regional events, so we created the Get Out and Drive contest to give HDC members the opportunity to organize their own virtual event. All they had to do was add the hashtag #hdcdays2024 and tag @Hagerty on Facebook or Instagram to share with other enthusiasts. It was a huge success – here are the numbers:

  • Total number of competition entries: 2446*
  • Total miles driven by participants: 126,004
  • Number of countries visited by participants: 40
  • Number of Canadian provinces travelled by participants: 4

*Members’ submissions were collected as part of a promotional event.

Comments from Get Out and Drive participants:

We decided to make this HDC Get Out and Drive sightseeing cruise a part of our (belated) celebration of our 42nd wedding anniversary. We drove in our 2015 Competition Orange Mustang GT convertible. The first stop was dinner. After dinner, we headed to a nearby lake to enjoy the cool breeze and the view. From there, we headed to the oldest covered bridge in the state of Ohio still in use, located in Newton Falls. After the covered bridge, we headed to another nearby lake, Lake Milton. Our last stop was for ice cream cones at Handel’s, a well-known local tradition. A celebration of several occasions for HDC Days! – Thomas

My family got in our 1965 Ford Mustang and drove around our beautiful small towns here in Western New York. We drove along the Erie Canal and stopped and had ice cream at one of our favorite stands. The evening temperatures were lovely and the little 289 was humming perfectly! My kids love driving around in our car and always ask me to “drive fast” so they can feel the wind. – Greg

I recently purchased a 1961 Corvette at an auction on the Hagerty Marketplace. The Corvette was in Denver and I live near Atlanta, so I decided to fly to Denver on a Friday and drive it back over the weekend! I pulled into my driveway in Jefferson around 8pm on Sunday night, about 53 hours and 1500 miles into my trip. It was an amazing trip in an amazing car that I will never forget! – Cameron

Fantastic trip with about 20 water-cooled cars from Southern California to Crater Lake, Oregon and back, a total of more than 2400 kilometers. We stopped in several national parks along the way. Kilometer after kilometer of breathtaking scenery and lots of camaraderie with new and old friends. – Connie
