10 Fourth of July Activities in Michigan That Don’t Involve Fireworks

Let’s face it, time is expensive and we’re all looking for ways to tighten our belts a little and save some money, especially on our everyday bills. This year, for Independence Day, that might mean spending less or nothing at all on fireworks.

But that’s okay, because you can still have a pretty awesome, all-American Fourth of July without spending money on things that will literally blow up in your face.

My family tells me every year that if I keep spending my money on Fourth of July fireworks, I might as well set it on fire, and this year that couldn’t be truer.

I would rather spend my money on something more tangible and maybe even spend NO money at all and do something that still has an unforgettable result. Not to mention, I’m a dog person and the less stress I can put on the dogs in my neighborhood, the better.

So I’ve put together a few ideas for us Michiganders that are still a lot of fun and couldn’t be more typical of the American way of celebrating this Independence Day without me literally blowing my money at the end of the day.
