Who are Chris Hemsworth’s parents?

When it comes to the genetic lottery, the Hemsworth brothers – Chris, Liam and Luke – have certainly hit the jackpot.

Her stunning looks, which made her worthy of portraying mythological gods and dreamy lovers, were inherited naturally.

So who are Hemsworth’s equally handsome parents?

Chris, Liam and Luke were born to Craig and Leonie in Melbourne, Victoria. Eldest brother Luke was born in 1980, Chris in 1983 and finally Liam in 1990.

Leonie was an English teacher and Craig was a counselor at Child Protective Services.

A few years after Liam’s birth, the couple moved to the Northern Territory to work on a cattle station.

“It was four and a half hours from the nearest town,” Chris told the telegraph.

“My parents ran the community centre, which was also a post office and grocery store. It was in the middle of nowhere. There were crocodiles and buffalo. I went to a school where 60 (Aboriginal) children between the ages of five and 17 were crammed into two classrooms.”

The family later moved again to Phillip Island in Victoria.

It wasn’t always easy to keep three boys under control.

In a 2016 interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Luke jokingly called their home “the Hemsworth house of horrors” – and for good reason!

Liam revealed to Conan O’Brien that the fights and arguments between them had become so bad that at one point he threw a knife at Chris’s head.

“I feel like the only way you really get to know someone is to give them a good punch in the face,” he said.

“It’s a way of expressing love. That’s what we did at our house – ‘Hey, man, good to see you, here’s a slap in the face for you.'”

“I threw a knife. I don’t know why my grandfather thought it would be a good idea to give little kids a real throwing knife, but he gave it to us… I threw it at (Chris’s) head when I was about eight years old, and the handle hit him in the head.

“It was just a warning. If you mess with me, I’ll throw a knife at your head.”

Even though things are heated between the brothers, their parents Leonie and Craig have by no means lost their love.

In a candid interview in his series Limitless, Chris revealed the sad motivation behind his acting career.

“If I’m being completely honest, I acted to get my parents out of debt,” he said. “My dad would tell me when he could pay off the debt to the bank and he would say, ‘Never, we’re going to die paying this off’ … that really bothered me from a young age.”

Even though the three Hemsworth brothers are growing up and starting their own families, their parents can still be seen regularly in the three brothers’ snapshots.

When Leonie celebrated her 60th birthday, she surprised her fans with her youthful appearance and the resemblance between Liam and his father Craig did not go unnoticed.

Fans were stunned when Liam shared a memory from his parents’ wedding day – Craig looked exactly like Liam, albeit a little more rugged.
