Live Updates: Men’s College World Series 2024

We’ll have a Men’s College World Series champion for the first time in 2024 after Tennessee and Texas A&M both secured spots in the finals on Wednesday, June 19. Below is the championship schedule and how they did it.

Schedule for the MCWS finals

The decisive moments

Tennessee 7State of Florida 2

Tennessee defeated Florida State 7-2 to advance to the championship series of the 2024 Men’s College World Series. It is the second time in program history that the Volunteers have reached the finals – and the first time since 1951.

The Volunteers took a 3-0 lead in the first inning and never relinquished it. Tennessee extended the lead to 6-0 by the seventh inning before Florida State scored shortly thereafter. Tennessee’s pitchers allowed only seven hits in the game.

No team has won more games over the past four seasons than Tennessee, and now the Volunteers have a chance to back up those successful seasons with another title.

Texas A&M 6, Florida 0

Texas A&M defeated Florida 6-0 to advance to the finals of the 2024 Men’s College World Series.

The Aggies took a 2-0 lead in the first inning, forcing Florida to change pitchers early. Meanwhile, Justin Lamkin’s excellent pitching through the first five innings led to a shutout victory. Lamkin had nine of Texas A&M’s 14 strikeouts in the win.
