Why Travis Kelce skipped Taylor Swift’s Cardiff Eras Tour show
Taylor Swift just started her Eras Tour show in Cardiff, Wales tonight, and her boyfriend Travis Kelce was not in the audience. There’s a good reason he’s not there: The Kansas City Chiefs player has an important football match in the USA this week.
Kelce arrived yesterday at Tight End University in Nashville, where tight ends from around the league come together to complete “a variety of activities such as film study, on-field drills, recovery, rehabilitation and more,” according to the event’s website. The welcoming reception was held last night and the program runs for three days. A video of Kelce at the first event was shared on Instagram this morning. He was also spotted there this morning.
However, after the summit, Kelce and Swift could actually be reunited. Page Six reported last month that Kelce was in Cannes, France, on Thursday, June 20, to record an episode of New heights during the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Swift is on a break from touring that day, so she could theoretically meet him there, or he could meet her in London after the event. She will begin her first three shows in the British city on June 21.
Swift and Kelce were last seen together in mid-May at Lake Como in Italy. They have been separated for the past month.

However, Swift publicly showed her support for Kelce last week by joining a livestream of the Chiefs’ Super Bowl ring ceremony from Liverpool. She left a few comments congratulating Kelce and the team before logging off due to the six-hour time difference. “Gotta go to sleep now it’s so late here love you guys,” she wrote.
A source spoke to Entertainment tonight on Friday about how Kelce and Swift are managing their long-distance relationship. “Taylor and Travis are making sure their current long-distance relationship doesn’t last very long,” the insider said. “They both stagger their schedules when possible and try to carve out as much time as possible for each other and each other’s families and friends.”
The source noted that they are committed to maintaining their romance: “They put each other first and do whatever they can to make each other happy. Their relationship is real and they both want it to work, so it works.”
