Love Island star Chris Hughes says ‘I love you girl’ and shares ‘best news’ that ‘a star is born’

Former Love Island star Chris Hughes has shared his joy that one of his horses named Annie has given birth to an adorable foal.

The reality star turned sports presenter has a keen interest in horse racing and therefore also loves horses, so he was naturally excited about the new addition to his life.

On Instagram, he posted a snap of chestnut mare Annie lying in the hay next to her newborn foal and gushed: “The BEST news to wake up to! Annie had her first foal at 5.15am this morning and we couldn’t be happier. A chestnut stallion and she’s a good mother! Thank you to everyone at Carisbrooke Stud for making sure she is healthy and happy.”

“A star is born @coralofficial @siclare1 @jonjooneillracing.”

His followers sent him congratulations in the comments, with one writing: “We can’t wait to meet baby Annie! She’s going to be an amazing mother.”

After becoming a household name in 2017 thanks to the successful third season of Love Island, where he was paired with Loose Women star Olivia Attwood, Chris has made a name for himself in the world of horse racing and has been presenting ITV Racing since 2019.

In February, Chris alarmed his fans when he revealed that he had been hospitalized. As it later turned out, this was due to alcoholic hepatitis, which he contracted after a night of drinking. The day after the night of drinking, he had gone to the gym and sauna, which caused his body to become severely dehydrated and prevented him from working off his alcohol consumption.

Sharing some snaps of himself in a hospital bed, hooked up to various machines, Chris wrote: “Wednesday was the turning point, the NHS staff have been incredible. Not only caring, kind and all the things you would expect, but most importantly the way they behave.”

“The situations they deal with on a daily basis and the way they are sometimes spoken to shocked me. Their patience is incredible and the staff are fantastic. They really are unsung heroes, so thank you,” he continued.

He also thanked his friend, who sat by his side for ten hours throughout the night. Chris then assured his fans that he was “on the mend.”
