Jamie Lee Curtis celebrated the 40th anniversary of her first date with her now-husband Christopher Guest on Instagram on Tuesday.

“40 years ago today I went on my first date with Christopher,” Curtis wrote next to an old photo of the couple holding hands and smiling at the camera. “We got married five months later and started building our lives.”

Curtis, an Oscar-winning actor and children’s author, and Guest, a writer, director and actor known for his work in “This Is Spinal Tap,” “Best in Show” and “The Princess Bride,” among others, married in 1984.

The couple have two children together, Annie, 37, and Ruby, 28.

“Chance encounter. Life depends on it. Children grow up. LOVE IS LOVE!” Curtis continued in her post on Tuesday.

Curtis’ friends and followers expressed their love for the couple in the comments, including actress Rita Wilson, who wrote: “Happy 40th Jamie and Chris!!!!! Sending you both lots of love!!💕.”

In addition to celebrating her dating anniversary with Guest, the Everything Everywhere All at Once star has also been busy: Last month, Curtis was photographed with co-star Lindsay Lohan as the couple began filming the sequel to their hit body-swap movie Freaky Friday.
