Emilia Romagna Little League wins the Europe and Africa region title, securing a spot in the 2024 Little League Softball® World Series presented by DICK’S Sporting Goods

Italy will once again return to Greenville, North Carolina, to represent the Europe and Africa region at the 2024 Little League Softball.^® World Series presented by DICK’S Sporting Goods when Emilia Romagna Little League (Bologna, Italy) defeated Bohemia Little League of the Czech Republic 7-1 in regional championship play.

Emilia Romagna LL achieved a 5-0 victory in the regional tournament and defeated second-placed Bohemia LL twice, including the championship-deciding 7-1 victory.

Italy has represented the Europe and Africa region with international teams at the last three Little League Softball World Series events, with Lombardia Little League winning the bid in 2023 and 2019, while Emilia Romagna Little League took the honor in 2022. This is the eighth time in history that Italy has been represented at the tournament since Lombardia Little League’s first trip in 2008.

With the first round pairings set, Emilia Romagna LL will compete in the Orange Bracket and play its first game on Monday, August 5, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN+ against the winner of Game 3 between the champions of the Latin America and Central Regions.

In addition to the fun and excitement of the 2024 Little League Softball World Series, participants in this year’s event will also have the unique opportunity to spend time with the game’s best athletes when Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball returns to Greenville for the 2024 AU Pro Games as part of the LLSWS, with a doubleheader at East Carolina University on Wednesday, August 7.
