Ryan Reynolds has reignited rumors about a possible cameo appearance by Taylor Swift in his upcoming film “Deadpool & Wolverine” – just weeks before its theatrical release.

On Tuesday, the 47-year-old actor caused a stir on social media when he posted a photo on Instagram from the set of the superhero flick, which is inspired by Swift’s 2020 album “Evermore.”

Dressed in Deadpool’s iconic red super suit and with his two samurai swords on his back, Reynolds recreated the album’s iconic cover.

Like Swift, Reynolds looked away from the camera while standing in a field with bare trees in the distance.

The Canadian star, who has 51.5 million followers, also captioned his Instagram post with the melody of the title song from the Grammy-nominated album.

The cover of “Evermore” was shot by photographer Beth Garrabrant at a sprawling New York estate owned by “a friend” of Swift.

Fans have speculated that the property – which was also used to shoot the cover for Evermore’s sister album Folklore (2020) – belongs to Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively, 36.

Swift and Lively have been best friends since 2015 – three years after Lively’s wedding to Reynolds.

She is considered a core member of the multiple Grammy award winner’s “Girl Squad”.

Reynolds and Lively are parents of four children – daughters James (9), Inez (7) and Betty (4) and another baby due in February 2023.

Swift famously mentioned the names James, Inez and Betty in her Folklore track “Betty” – although the song actually mentioned the name of her youngest daughter for the very first time.

In a 2021 SiriusXM interview, Reynolds revealed that his girls had no idea they made it into the lyrics until the song was released.

“We surprised them with this. They didn’t know,” he said, joking: “We don’t tell them anything. We’ve found that they are most compliant when you don’t give them access to outside information.”

As for her fourth child’s nickname – which has yet to be revealed – Reynolds joked on the TODAY show in May that it was in Swift’s hands.

“We’re always waiting for Taylor to tell us what the baby’s name is, and I can tell you one thing: We’re still waiting,” he teased, adding that Swift is a “prolific writer.”

The couple recently attended Swift’s “Eras Tour” concert in Madrid, Spain in May, with all three girls in the audience.

Rumors that Swift might appear in “Deadpool & Wolverine” emerged last year after she was seen with her co-stars Reynolds and Hugh Jackman (55).

In October 2023, the trio, along with Lively, attended one of Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce’s games.

Jackman shared a now-viral selfie of himself, Swift, Reynolds and Lively posing together in their seats during the big game.

Swift and Jackman have been friends for over a decade; in 2014, the couple even celebrated Christmas Eve together.

The October 2023 appearance led fans to speculate that Swift could appear as either Lady Deadpool or Dazzler in the long-awaited sequel to the Marvel superhero.

And those rumors intensified earlier this month when the latest trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine was released.

It featured a brief scene in which a pair of legs – apparently belonging to a woman – walked through dust and rubble.

Many were quick to argue that the legs belonged to Swift, while others wondered if Reynolds’ wife Lively might make a cameo of her own in the film, which is out July 26.

Shortly thereafter, IMAX’s official Instagram account uploaded a promotional poster for the film, featuring Deadpool and Wolverine wearing friendship bracelets inspired by the Eras Tour.

The bracelets – often made of colorful beads and featuring iconic Swift lyrics or song titles – became a tradition after Swift’s tour began in March 2023, when fans began making them and handing them out during concerts.

The speculation about a cameo is not as far-fetched as it seems, as Swift actually has considerable acting experience.

She made a cameo appearance in David O. Russell’s 2022 box office flop “Amsterdam,” starring Margot Robbie and Christian Bale.

She previously appeared alongside her ex-boyfriend Taylor Lautner in “Cats” (2018) and “Valentine’s Day” (2010). She also guest-starred in an episode of “CSI” in 2009.

Swift is currently completing the European leg of her hugely successful Eras Tour.

Earlier this month she played her 100th show on the Eras Tour in Liverpool and the star explained: “Every time we play the show it feels new to me.”

The billionaire called it “the adventure of a lifetime” and thanked his fans for their continued support.
