Erin Andrews Says It Was ‘Fun’ to See Travis Kelce Open for Taylor Swift (Exclusive)

Erin Andrews was “completely overwhelmed” after watching Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in London late last month, and says seeing the singer on stage with her boyfriend Travis Kelce was “the best thing” of the night.

Andrews, 46, spoke to PEOPLE at a Purina Pro Plan event in late June and got excited as she recalled seeing Swift and Kelce, both 34, onstage together in front of a live audience for the first time at Swift’s June 23 show at Wembley Stadium.

“The Eras tour was phenomenal,” says Andrews. “She was everything I hoped it would be and more. I’m sad because of course I know she’s coming to the States in October, but I’ve got football on those weekends so I can’t go. I’d love to try it again. It was just incredible. She’s a beast. She’s a force. Yeah, I’m blown away.”

Andrews was one of the first to support a relationship between Swift and Kelce when rumors began circulating online in late summer last year. In her podcast Calm down with Erin and CharissaAndrews and her co-host Charissa Thompson tried to convince Swift that the Kansas City Chiefs star would be good for her.

Kelce later thanked Andrews and Thompson on social media after a clip from the segment was widely shared online, telling the podcasters, “I owe you guys one.”

“Honestly, we just laugh about it because we didn’t set them up,” Andrews says. “We were just sticking up for a friend. We’re big Swifties and we thought they would be a great couple. And I think it’s cool to see that. Look, we all love romantic comedies. We all love love. We all love the good-looking football player who is charismatic and fun to be around. And then we love the amazing pop star and the fact that these two icons got together.”

Andrews, who teamed up with her dog and other celebs for Purina Pro Plan’s new Fueled By docuseries, says it’s “fun” to see the two happy together now. “And I also loved seeing it up close and personal because I remember when the rumors started that they were dating,” Andrews says. “There were just so many negative people saying things about it. And I’m just so happy for them. And yeah, I thought honestly the best part about the Eras tour was seeing him support her. I just thought that was so beautiful.”
