The Grand Inquisitor was once a member of the Jedi Order, but was corrupted by Palpatine and turned to the dark side with the promise of knowledge and great power. To that end, there is no better way for Marvel’s new and canonical Inquisitors series, with one of the Grand Inquisitor’s most important missions for the Empire.

As such, it certainly underscores his strong commitment to the dark side and the ways of the Sith he now calls Master, an ideology he was hostile to as a Jedi Knight not so long ago.
