Kodansha unveils new Transformers Bumblebee action figure

The year 2024 will mark the Transformers franchise, with several new toys being released and teased, including a new color scheme for Bumblebee that makes the iconic Autobot shine like never before.

About TFW2005, as shown in Kodanasha Fanbook 2024, this toy takes an existing figure and gives it a brilliant new color scheme. The figure is transformable and translucent, giving the character a more classic look. It’s also just one of several brand new Transformers toys being made to celebrate the line’s history.

To mark the brand’s 40th anniversary, fans can now get a Transformers collector’s coin as a souvenir at two Hasbro stores.

An upcoming magazine gives a glimpse of a “shiny” version of Transformers’ Bumblebee

As announced in a preview for the upcoming issue of Kodansha Fanbookthe new Bumblebee “Shining Thunder Ver.” figure is guaranteed to shine in any collection. It is said to represent the original Generation 1 version of Bumblebee, with accompanying images showing Bumblebee and Optimus Prime in their classic forms. Other images show them in a far more deformed and “chibi”-like design style, along with other characters such as Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime, two versions of Megatron, and Optimus Primal.

The Bumblebee figure itself is a clear repaint of Transformers: Buzzworthy Bumblebee Core Class G1 Bumblebee. Although it is a tiny figure, its bright coloring that looks almost golden will make it a great find on toy shelves. Its alternate mode is a car of an undetermined model that is clearly a stand-in for an actual licensed Volkswagen Beetle. In robot mode, however, it more clearly resembles G1 and carries a small weapon. There is conflicting news on the release date. Some are reporting July 19, 2024 as the release date for either the figure or the magazine. A price has not been confirmed yet either.

For the 40th anniversary of Transformers, there are numerous new releases in the franchise

Bumblebee and Spike are next to each other in “Transformers: The Movie.”

Both Hasbro and Takara, the Transformers Franchise is experiencing a lot of appeal in its 40th year of existence. Many of them are part of the Transformers: Legacy Toy series that recreates the designs of various cloaked robots in a G1-style evergreen form. Others are in other series or from other companies and represent a wide range of Autobots, Decepticons and other Transformers. One of these is a statue of Cliffjumper – a red repaint of Bumblebee – in the form of an anime-style human female. This is part of the Transformers: Bishojo line and one of many that take classic characters and reinterpret them for modern consumers.

Bumblebee remains one of the most popular characters in the Transformers franchise, and not just based on his original incarnation. His radically different interpretation from Michael Bay’s live-action films brought him back into the spotlight, but in a completely different mode: a Chevy Camaro. In these films, Bumblebee was also unable to speak, leaving him to communicate via his radio. The bumblebee Travis Knight’s solo film brought back his classic VW mode.
