Legendary rock band Heart have postponed the remainder of their Royal Flush Tour as Heart’s lead singer Ann Wilson battles cancer.
“I underwent surgery to remove something that turned out to be cancerous,” Wilson said in a statement sent by representatives from Grandstand Media.
“The surgery was successful and I feel great, but my doctors are now advising me to undergo preventive chemotherapy and I have decided to do that,” Wilson said. “My doctors are advising me to stay off stage for the rest of the year to fully recover.”
The band later announced the news about the tour on Instagram.
Heart had more than 50 shows planned as part of the “Royal Flush Tour,” including a concert with Def Leppard and Journey at Fenway Park in Boston on Monday, August 5. All tickets already purchased will remain valid once new tour dates are announced.
“To those who bought tickets, I really wish we could do these shows. Please know that I fully intend to be back on stage in 2025,” Wilson’s statement continued. “My team is finalizing these details and we will share the plan with you as soon as possible.”
