Singer sends angry message to Simon Cowell after being invited to audition for the music mogul’s ‘next One Direction’

A singer sent Simon Cowell an angry message on Tuesday after he was approached by a casting director to audition for the “next One Direction.”

The 64-year-old music mogul recently set out to find the next incarnation of the boy band after admitting that there hasn’t been a band as successful since then.

In search of his newest stars, Simon was seen walking the streets of London with a sign that read: “Simon needs you. Future megastars wanted for new boy band.”

Meanwhile, his team of casting directors contacted potential candidates online, but one was not impressed.

Fin Power of Liverpool band STONE claimed he received a message from someone on Simon’s behalf and shared his brutal response.

A singer sent an angry message to Simon Cowell on Tuesday after being approached by a casting director to audition for the “next One Direction” show.

He explained: “I received this message from someone on behalf of Simon Cowell. “Hi, Fin. I am contacting you on behalf of Simon Cowell!”

“We are working with him to find singers aged 16 to 18 for a new boy band. The whole thing will be filmed as part of a possible television documentary that follows him on his search.

“The company behind Simon Cowell is BTBSC Series Ltd, trading as Box-to-Box Films. I would be happy to give you more information on how to audition for this if you are interested.”‘

In response, Fin wrote: “Tell Simon to fuck off.”

MailOnline has contacted Simon’s representative for comment.

As part of his search for the “next One Direction,” Simon recently signed a huge deal with streaming giant Netflix for a new show he has called “Simon Cowell: Midas Touch.”

A source told The Sun that Simon is close to signing a deal with the streamer.

They said: “Netflix is the perfect place for their new show and Box To Box, who produce the series, have worked with them before.”

“Simon and his team have worked so hard to get the show off the ground and now a final deal is so close.”

It is said that the name of the show amused the people behind the scenes.

The source added: “Simon knows he is the best at what he does and calling his show the Midas Touch gives new meaning to the term ‘self-praise’.”

Simon’s search will consist of X Factor boot camp-style auditions starting in Newcastle on July 4 and 5 before moving on to Liverpool, Dublin and London.

On Saturday it was revealed that Simon fears there is not enough groundbreaking talent in the UK, saying that record labels are not signing enough new stars because they face too much competition online.

Simon, who has enjoyed global success with One Direction and Westlife, is determined to change that with a new project that will see him hold auditions for a new band.

He told the Daily Mail: “At the moment, record labels are not signing enough new talent.”

“The number of British artists making it global has literally dropped dramatically because I think there is too much competition online.”

“People don’t knock on your door and say, ‘I have a new band.’ That doesn’t happen. You have to go out and do it yourself. And that’s what we do.”

Earlier this month, Simon was seen putting up a giant poster with his own face on it to promote his new show.

He surprised passers-by in London by putting up the giant poster to launch his nationwide hunt for the next big boy band.

After Britain’s Got Talent received the worst ratings in its 17-year history on Sunday night, Simon decided he needed his star presence to promote his next project – even though the head judge claimed it was the best finale he had seen in a long time.

The chief judge in overalls set to work with bucket and broom in hand.

He shocked Londoners when he smoothed out a giant poster of his own face that read: “Simon needs you. Future megastars wanted for new boy band. No time wasters.”

The last British pop act to achieve global success was Dua Lipa, who was signed to Warner Records in 2014.

In contrast, the 1960s, 70s, 80s and 90s had no shortage of world-famous music groups such as the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Wham! and Take That.

Music industry insiders said this was one reason Glastonbury organizers had a hard time finding enough big headliners for this year’s festival.

The 28-year-old Ms. Lipa is the top act on the Pyramid stage on Friday, and on Saturday Coldplay are the headliners – for the fifth time.

American artist SZA will headline on Sunday evening.
