Colleen and Matt from ‘Love Is Blind’ celebrate their third anniversary (exclusive)

Colleen Reed and Matt Bolton have been going strong for three years!

The Love is blind The couple, who met and married in season 3 of the Netflix hit, will celebrate their third anniversary on July 2.

It’s been a busy year of marriage for the couple, who announced just before their second wedding anniversary that they’ve finally moved in together in June 2023. Now, after another year of marriage and an official year of living together, Matt, 30, and Colleen, 28, tell PEOPLE they couldn’t be happier together.

“We moved in together last year and the transition has been smooth,” the couple tells PEOPLE in a joint email statement. “Living together has allowed us to make such great progress in our relationship, we can truly see every detail of each other.”

“It has changed the way we communicate, react and adapt to our routines,” they continue. “Matt is the cook and Colleen is the decorator. I’m happy to say the future looks bright for the Boltons!”

Matt and Colleen met for the first time in the pods of the third season on Love is blind. They overcame a lot of challenges on the way to the altar before saying “I do” to each other in the finale. Today, the Boltons and their co-stars Alexa and Brennon Lemieux are the only couples to have married since season 3 – and stayed together.

Shortly after their season premiered, Matt told PEOPLE about the challenges they faced on the show and what made him say “yes” to Colleen in the finale.

“Of course, there were a lot of conversations that you missed,” he said in November 2022. “When you go through those, I’m glad we went through those little upsets because it allowed us to learn how to deal with certain things.”

“We saw so much potential, and on the day of the wedding we didn’t know it. But when I saw her walking down the aisle, I thought, ‘Listen, we have too much potential,'” he continued. “This is such a great moment. We are meant for each other. So we just had to do it. We can’t pass this up.”

After Matt and Colleen got married, there was some speculation about a split as fans questioned why they weren’t living together. However, Deepti Vempati and Natalie Lee’s podcast states: Out of the capsules In 2023, Colleen put an end to the rumors when she revealed that the couple were “practically living together already” considering how much time Matt spent at her place and that they wanted to know what their relationship would be like in the real world before moving into a home together.

“It takes a while to get used to living with someone now,” she explained. “It takes a second, and we both didn’t want to rush this and suddenly speed it up for other people.”

Today, Matt and Colleen tell PEOPLE about their move in together: “It was stressful having to move out of our old apartment at such short notice.”

“But we found a lovely house to make our new home,” they continue. “It’s been so much fun having a house because we have more space to live in, a yard and a lovely porch to add. Matt is really excited to get into his landscaping era and Colleen to look at it all.”

“On the first night, we were able to have a real dance party while cooking dinner in our spacious kitchen. We’re excited to show more of our new space,” they add.

With their anniversary just days before July 4, the Boltons say they have several plans to celebrate – and are looking forward to what the future holds.

“We have a very busy summer and it was always going to be difficult to plan our anniversary on the Fourth of July weekend,” they explain. “We have a group that meets for the holiday and we will celebrate our anniversary with them. On the second of July we are planning a nice dinner – Italian, of course!”
