Ann Arbor City Council approves parking and traffic plan for Michigan football game

ANN ARBOR, MI – There are 60 days until the Michigan football team opens its 2024 season against Fresno State.

In preparation for football Saturdays beginning August 31, the Ann Arbor City Council approved traffic and parking plans around Michigan Stadium during its July 1 meeting.

East Keech Street will be closed between South Main Street and Greene Street, and parking on Greene Street between East Hoover Avenue and Keech Street will be restricted to permit holders.

The westbound right-turn lane will be closed on East Stadium Boulevard to South Main Street directly in front of the Big House. South Main Street will be closed from Stadium Boulevard to Pauline Boulevard.

The closures will be in effect from three hours before game time until the end of the game. The exception is South Main Street heading south, which will be closed from one hour before game time until the end.

Michigan’s eight home games will be on August 31, every Saturday in September, October 26, and November 2 and 23.

The university will work with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Ann Arbor Police this fall to improve security around the stadium, including monitoring vehicles entering and exiting neighborhood streets on South Main Street.
