Clothing store Threads celebrates 25th anniversary in Northern Michigan

PETOSKEY – For 25 years, Threads, a women’s clothing store, has called Northern Michigan home.

Threads originally opened in the Village of Bay Harbor in the summer of 1999, moved to downtown Petoskey in 2009, and has been at its current location at 400 Bay St. since 2013.

Owner Chris Jaconette and the store celebrated their 25th anniversary with an open house on Thursday, June 27th.

“It’s fun,” said Jaconette. “The people were very nice.”

Jaconette, who also owns Après by Threads in Petoskey, said she is grateful and proud to celebrate this 25th anniversary.

“I’m proud that we’ve had a lot of the same customers all this time, and the relationships and customer service,” she said. “Eileen (Heck) has been here for 20 years, so I’m very proud that we have a solid staff.”

Looking to the future, Jaconette said she is very happy in her current location.

“We’re very happy,” she said. “This is a great place. I love this building. We just finished remodeling this winter, so we’re staying here for a while. We’re not going anywhere.”
