Italy: Airport workers plan nationwide strike

Unionized employees of several airports in Italy are planning strikes on 5th July.

The airports affected include Bologna, Crotone, Lamezia Terme, Milan, Reggio Calabria, Rome and Venice. The strikes will take place at different times of the day. Air traffic disruptions are to be expected.

Ireland: Pilots continue indefinite strike

Pilots for IrelandNational airline Aer Lingus began an indefinite strike on June 26, under the rule of law. This means that they will not work outside of their set working hours or accept changes to their flight schedules. Around 400 flights have been cancelled. until 7 July.

The country’s labor court has now officially intervened in the ongoing wage negotiations; a hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, July 3.

Affected passengers will be notified via SMS or email, but if you have a booking with the airline, it’s best to check the status of your flight before you leave home.

UK: Gatwick prepares for disruptions in July

Workers at London Gatwick Airport will go on strike later this month due to a dispute over wages.

Strikes in France: Could strikes affect the Paris Olympics?
