Who does Cristiano Ronaldo play for?

Ronaldo currently plays for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.

In the 2023/24 season, he was their top scorer and set the record for most goals scored in a single season in the league.

How long will Ronaldo play in Saudi Arabia?

Spanish media Marca was the first to report that Ronaldo would officially join Al Nassr after a break following the 2023 World Cup.

Marca stated at the time that the contract would run until 2030, with Ronaldo set to play for two and a half years before becoming ambassador for Saudi Arabia, which is bidding to host the 2030 World Cup.

Is Ronaldo retiring?

In early 2024, Ronaldo joked that he had 10 years left to play before retiring. At the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, he said: “Honestly, I don’t know when I’ll be finished.”

“Of course it will happen soon, soon, I mean in 10 years,” he laughed. “No, I’m just kidding, I don’t know, we’ll see.”

A video of his partner Georgina Rodriguez also went viral. She was heard saying: “One more year for Cristiano and then it’s over. Maybe two, I don’t know,” while chatting to models at Paris Fashion Week.

Cristiano Ronaldo: club career, history

At the age of 16, Ronaldo’s talent was discovered in Sporting’s youth team and he was promoted to the first team. At 17, he made his debut for the club in the UEFA Champions League before being signed by Manchester United in 2003 for €94 million.

At Old Trafford he wore the prestigious number 7 shirt and won numerous titles and personal awards during his first time at the club.

Real Madrid paid £80 million for his services in 2009 and he became their all-time top scorer. He also won the Ballon d’Or four times. During his time at Madrid, he experienced unforgettable moments such as winning four Champions League titles, two La Liga triumphs and three FIFA Club World Cups.

In search of new challenges, amid alleged dissatisfaction, he moved to Juventus Turin for 100 million euros in 2018, where he continued his goalscoring career and won two consecutive Serie A titles.

His return to United in 2021 was marked by a sensational debut in which he scored twice in a 4-1 win over Newcastle, but the season ended trophy-free and managerial changes led to his departure in 2022.

Ronaldo found a new challenge when he joined Al Nassr in 2023, where he recently broke the record for most goals in a season in the Saudi Pro League.
