The House Agriculture Committee successfully passed the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2024, passing the bill out of committee in a bipartisan vote.

This was the first step toward a new, modernized farm bill. But Senate Democrats have decided not to move forward. Their messages can push the Senate to make an overhaul before Election Day.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

When it comes to helping farmers and ensuring the security of our food system, few laws are more important than the Farm Bill. It is often said that food security is national security.
