Fubo and NBCUniversal sign content deal for the Olympic Games in Paris

Fubo is partnering with NBCUniversal to offer subscribers access to the network’s cross-platform coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games from July 26 to August 11 at no additional cost.

Financial terms of the agreement, which includes live competitive events starting July 24 as well as the ability to watch on demand, were not disclosed.

In addition to linear coverage on NBC, USA Network, E!, CNBC, Golf Channel, Telemundo and Universo, Fubo subscribers can also watch the Olympics on NBCOlympics.com, NBC.com and the NBC Sports app.

NBC’s linear networks will form the backbone of the company’s coverage, offering fans at least nine hours of daytime coverage, including live finals in swimming, gymnastics, track and field and more. They will also air “Primetime in Paris” for 16 consecutive nights, offering three hours of coverage each night that takes audiences right into the heart of the Olympic competition, moments, stories and raw emotion.

Paris Extra 1 and 2 offer live programming 24 hours a day on competition days, with overnight replays. Paris Extra 1 focuses on basketball, handball, water polo and field hockey, while Paris Extra 2 focuses on combat and racquet sports such as judo, taekwondo, badminton, table tennis and more. Telemundo and Universo also offer commentary in Spanish, including live coverage of the opening ceremony from the Seine, broadcast live on Telemundo for the first time.

NBCOlympics.com, NBC.com and the NBC Sports app will collectively stream over 5,000 hours of content across platforms and available on mobile, tablets and connected TVs. Coverage includes live competition in all 39 sports and all 329 medal events, as well as simulstreaming of all linear coverage and the digital “Gold Zone” broadcast show.

Olympic highlights, longer clips and select replays of full events will be available on-demand through Fubo and its TV Everywhere platforms. The on-demand offering also includes access to clips from the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, videos of the athletes, venues and sports from the Paris Olympic Games, live streams of training sessions and an active news desk that will post regular Olympic updates throughout the day.

The partnership with NBCUniversal comes as Fubo is waging litigation against Fox, Warner Bros. Discovery and Disney’s upcoming sports streaming joint venture Venu Sports. A preliminary injunction in the matter is scheduled for August 7.

All NBCUniversal channels with Olympics coverage are included in Fubo’s Pro plan for $80 per month, while the channels and 4K coverage are available in the Elite plan for $90 per month.

Fubo’s shares, trading at $1.26 a share Monday afternoon, have fallen 60% over the past six months and 44% over the past year.
