ONNY’s Summer Chamber Music Series 2024 announced | WWTI

POTSDAM, NY (WWTI) – In a recent press release, the Orchestra of Northern New York announced that it will host its 2024 Summer Chamber Music Series in Childwold, Wanakena and Lake Clear with the Secret Sits Pro Musica Ensembles. All performances will take place on Thursdays at 7 p.m. and admission is free, but donations are welcome.

July 11:

The series begins at Childwold Memorial Presbyterian Church with Brian Dunbar’s piece “Wandering: Flute Music from Baroque to Jazz,” accompanied by Keilor Kastella on piano. The selection ranges from the Flute Sonata in B minor by Johann Sebastian Bach to a contemporary piece, “Hypnosis,” by Ian Clarke.

July 18:

Paul Meyers and Sebastian Buhts return to perform a program of music by Bela Bartok, Maurice Ravel and original compositions at Childwold Memorial Presbyterian Church.

8th August:

Jamcrackers will bring a mix of humor, history and musical spirit to their performance at Wanakena Presbyterian Church. Featuring solo artists Dan Berggren, Peggy Lynn and Dan Duggan, Jamcrackers is named after the river thugs who broke up logs.

29th August:

Closing out the summer series are international opera singer Margaret Chalker and her granddaughter Mekayla Fountaine, with Julie Miller on piano, presenting FAMILY TIES, a program of songs, duets and arias ranging from operetta to modern Broadway, at the Adirondack Presbyterian Church in Lake Clear.
