Taylor Swift reveals surprising inspiration for her album “Folklore”

Taylor Swift felt the magic when I was in Ireland for a series of Epoch Tour shows at the weekend, where she revealed to the Dublin audience that the country and its stories were among the inspirations for one of her highly acclaimed albums.

On Saturday (June 29), Swift shared that Ireland played a big role in the “world” of her 2020 album folkloreand revealed that the album “just belongs to Ireland in general”, according to People. She went on to praise the Irish history of storytelling, adding that she followed that style to try a “different” approach to songwriting on the album, where she could be the narrator rather than just recounting her own experiences.

“I imagined the world of the album to be like Ireland. Storytelling with lots of different characters,” she said, adding, “We’re back where we belong” by playing songs from the album in the country that inspired it. “You guys have got that down too. It’s very Irish, the storytelling.”

She added: “When I made this album, I started two days after the pandemic began folkloreI wasn’t in Ireland. So I had to make an album where the imaginary world I pretended to travel to every day while I was writing it… I have to be honest, felt kind of like Ireland.”
