Chad Stahelski’s 87Eleven remake of the Bollywood action thriller “Kill”

John Wick filmmaker Chad Stahelski will produce an English-language remake of the action thriller Kill for Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions.

Nikhil Nagesh Bhat wrote and directed the 2023 Indian Hindi film. The original Kill Set during a train ride to New Delhi, the film follows two commandos battling an army of bandits. It hits theaters in the US this weekend (July 4).

“Just when things could get no more risky, the train descends into chaos when a gang of 40 bandits armed with knives invade. Amrit and his friend use their martial arts skills to protect the passengers. The train turns into a claustrophobic battlefield where martial arts meets chaos,” says the producers’ official synopsis.

The Bollywood version of Kill is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain. The ensemble cast includes Lakshya, Tanya Maniktala and Raghav Juyal.

Stahelski and his 87Eleven Entertainment company have a deal with Lionsgate to provide the Hollywood studio with original action films to collaborate on, with the goal of establishing future film franchises. The production deal is separate from a recently announced deal with Lionsgate that gives Stahelski oversight of two franchises: Highlanders And John Wickthe latter includes four films directed by Stahelski and starring Keanu Reeves.
