Abby is incredibly close to her parents and sister and has even said she would love to have her father join The Bear one day. “I would love to have my dad involved in some capacity,” she told People. “That would be really, really fun.”

“I don’t know who he would play. Maybe an angry customer,” she added. “Or someone from the family.”

When Abby tied the knot with television writer Bill Kennedy in 2016, Chris and Paula couldn’t have been more supportive and offered to host her wedding reception at their New England home. “My dad actually helps out a lot,” the star gushed to People.

“He was very involved, which is really sweet…he was very involved in the catering process. A lot of foods that he wanted.”

Abby has shared several photos from her big day over the years, and in 2019 she wrote a sweet caption under a photo of Chris walking her down the aisle. “Happy birthday Pops. I love you so much in this photo. Laughing at the three strangers who stood outside the church yelling at us that we looked great. It was disturbing!!!!!” she wrote.

The year before, Abby had posted another heartfelt post. “Happy birthday, Daddy! I’m so lucky to be your daughter,” she began. “I like this picture because it wasn’t a holiday or a birthday… just an ordinary day of smiling.”
