BYD sales breakdown in June: Song 70,219 units, Qin 68,450

The Song and Qin families continue to be BYD’s best-sellers. The Yuan family was BYD’s third best-selling model in June with 36,222 units sold.

BYD (OTCMKTS: BYDDF) today announced new powertrain vehicle (NEV) sales for June, followed by breakdowns showing the performance of various brands and models.

BYD’s NEVs include NEVs for passenger cars and NEVs for commercial vehicles, with NEVs belonging to various brands including BYD, Denza, Yangwang and Fang Cheng Bao.

The BYD Group sold 341,658 NEVs in June, including 340,211 passenger cars and 1,447 commercial vehicles.

BYD brand passenger vehicles, including the Dynasty and Ocean series, sold 324,838 units in June, up 35.05 percent year-on-year and 3.07 percent from May.

The Song family sold 70,219 units in June, continuing to be BYD’s best-selling model, up 65.66 percent year-on-year but down 14.55 percent from May.

Commercially available models of the Song family include Song L and Song Pro from the Dynasty series and Song Plus EV and Song Plus DM-i from the Ocean series.

BYD’s Dynasty series of Song models sold 24,658 units in June, a decrease of 33.83 percent from 37,267 units in May.

The Ocean series of Song models sold 45,561 units in June, an increase of 1.46 percent from 44,907 in May.

The BYD Qin model family continued to be BYD’s second best-selling model with 68,450 units sold in June, an increase of 54.73 percent year-on-year and 19.94 percent from May.

The BYD Yuan family sold 36,222 units in June, up 6.74 percent year-on-year but down 9.96 percent from May.

36,066 units of the BYD Seagull were sold in June, 56.77 percent more than the previous year and 1.97 percent more than in May.

The BYD Seagull was launched on April 26, 2023 and had a starting price of 73,800 RMB ($10,150), making it the cheapest BYD model.

On March 6, BYD launched the Glory Edition of the Seagull with a starting price of 69,800 RMB, 4,000 RMB or 5.42 percent less than its predecessor.

32,980 units of the BYD Chaser 05 were sold in June, 222.64 percent more than the previous year and 0.29 percent more than in May.

BYD Seal sold 24,407 units in June, 200.06 percent more than the previous year and 70.55 percent more than in May.

The BYD Han family sold 21,866 units in June, down 5.77 percent year-on-year and 0.62 percent from May.

The BYD Tang sold 15,719 units in June, 24.19 percent more than the previous year and 1.56 percent more than in May.

10,860 units of the BYD Dolphin were sold in June, 65.13 percent less than the previous year, but 2.22 percent more than in May.

The BYD Sea Lion 07 sold 6,950 units in June, was launched on May 10 and is the first model of BYD’s new e-Platform 3.0 Evo technology platform.

580 units of the BYD e2 were sold in June, 83.76 percent less than the previous year and 30.20 percent less than in May.

519 units of the BYD Frigate 07 were sold in June, 93.54 percent fewer than in the same period last year and 33.63 percent fewer than in May.

BYD’s premium brand Denza delivered 12,275 units in June, 11.01 percent more than the previous year and 0.43 percent more than in May.

Denza deliveries in June included 10,186 units of the D9 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) and 2,089 units of the N7 SUV.

BYD’s personalized sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao delivered 2,680 vehicles in June. Fang Cheng Bao’s first model, the Bao 5, was officially launched on November 9, 2023, and deliveries began on November 23.

The Yangwang brand delivered 418 vehicles in June, and BYD’s ultra-luxury sub-brand launched its first model, the U8, on September 20, 2023, with deliveries starting on November 24.

The U8, which has a starting price of 1,098,000 RMB, sold 5,500 units between January and June.
