Simone Biles and pop singer SZA appear in a spot for the 2024 Paris Olympics for NBC

For anyone wondering about the social media posts featuring pop singer SZA and Simone Biles, the answer came on Monday morning.

To continue its promotion of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, NBC released another celebrity-athlete crossover featuring one of the U.S. team’s biggest stars. In this two-minute spot, SZA traveled to Biles’ training headquarters in Spring, Texas, for a chat – and a little gymnastics fun.

SZA, real name Solána Imani Rowe, previously said her music was inspired by gymnastics, a sport she practiced for 13 years.

“It’s my dream to talk to you,” SZA said in the clip.

Biles and SZA talked about the latter’s earlier days as a gymnast. Biles then challenged the GRAMMY award winner to a handstand competition, which SZA apparently won, although Biles’ performance wasn’t necessarily as impressive as what she showed at the U.S. Gymnastics competitions over the weekend. Biles secured her spot on the 2024 roster by winning the women’s all-around at the U.S. Olympic trials over the weekend in Minneapolis.

Already the most successful American gymnast in Olympic history, Biles is competing in her third Games and is attempting to become the first woman since the 1960s to win two gold medals in the all-around.

Another celebrity athlete spot featuring track star Sha’Carri Richardson and singer Cardi B (“When Sha’Carri Met Cardi”) aired during the network’s Kentucky Derby coverage on May 5.

NBC is relying on celebrity aspects in its coverage of the Olympic Games. For example, Snoop Dogg will be working as a correspondent for the station in Paris.

In addition, Peyton Manning and Kelly Clarkson will participate in the broadcast of the opening ceremony as co-hosts with Mike Tirico.
