In recent history Paris Hilton has made no secret of the fact that the speaking voice that became synonymous with her at the height of her fame in the mid-2000s was not representative of her actual speaking style.

In 2016, Paris said on the Today show that the “baby voice” she used in “The Simple Life” was not her “real voice,” and revealed on “This Morning” last year: “That was just a character I played.”

“I’m not a dumb blonde, I’m just very good at pretending to be one,” she added.

Last week, people were able to witness Paris changing her voice in real time as she appeared before the U.S. Congress to testify about the abuse she had experienced and been subjected to. in their younger years in so-called centers for β€œproblematic youth”.

In videos from the beginning of her testimony, Paris could be heard talking about the lawmaker’s “sparkly” outfit in the voice most of us would associate with her.

However, when she switched to more serious topics, she immediately switched to her lower register and audiences were amazed at how quickly she could adapt her speaking voice.

But Paris is not the only public figure whose voice has caused a stir in recent weeks.

ArianaGrande had previously spoken out after viewers noticed her changing her voice during an interview on Penn Badgeley’s podcast.

She attributed the change to “habit” after spending two years in the role of Glinda in “Wicked” and “vocal health.”

“I often change my vocal range (high/low) intentionally depending on how much I sing,” she added. “I’ve always done it that way.”
