Pixar’s Pete Docter looks forward to the Disney+ spinoff series Inside Out: “We’re ready”

Pete Docter, Chief Creative Officer at Pixar Animation Studios, hints about from the inside to the outside Spin-off series coming to Disney+ in 2025.

In a recent interview, the filmmaker revealed details about the content of the spin-off and the setting of the series.

“We’re done. It’s coming out next spring. I’m not sure if there’s a specific release date,” Docter said Weekly entertainment“Remember in the first movie we go to dream production to see how Riley’s dreams are created? That kind of explains why they’re so weird.”

Docter continued, “We’ve continued to explore the power of dreams and their impact on our waking lives. So it’s pretty cool.”

The spin-off series comes as Inside Out 2 has proven to be a worldwide box office success. Pixar’s sequel has broken several records. With $154.2 million, Inside Out 2 is the second biggest domestic animated film opening of all time and the second biggest for the animation studio. It also broke the record for the biggest opening of an animated film worldwide, with $295 million.

Amy Poehler returned to voice Joy for Inside Out 2. The film, directed by Kelsey Mann from a screenplay by Meg LeFauve and Dave Holstein, follows Riley (voice: Kensington Tallman) and the emotions that run through her head. Other actors reprising their roles from the first film include Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black, Diane Lane and Kyle MacLachlan. The voice cast included Maya Hawke, Kensington Tallman, Tony Hale, Liza Lapira, Ayo Edebiri, Lilimar, Grace Lu, Sumayyah Nuriddin-Green, Adèle Exarchopoulos and Paul Walter Hauser.
