When rock singer Lzzy Hale heard a cover band playing a Halestorm song in a Nashville bar, she surprised everyone by singing a duet with them on stage.

According to Blabbermouth, the Halestorm singer was at JBJ’s Nashville, a new Music City bar owned by Jon Bon Jovi, on Thursday night. Hale said a local musician told her she had just missed a band playing one of her songs, but when the crowd requested Halestorm’s “Here’s to Us,” she couldn’t resist joining in.

“Had an amazing day yesterday! Training, vocal practice, rehearsal with the boys, sushi dinner with @thejoestorm and then we headed to downtown Nashville to meet some of the greatest people in my life, Mz @shannongunz and Vin from @siriusxmoctane. It was incredible to see each other again and dive deep into the stories of our struggles and triumphs,” Hale wrote.

“Then before we went home we thought we’d stop for a drink and find some fun in downtown Nashville. Turns out they were spreading it at Jon Bon Jovi’s new bar @jonbonjovi… As I walked into the place I was approached by a local talent Lily and she told me that the band that was performing had just covered a song by HALESTORM. Too bad I missed it I grabbed a drink to watch the rest of the band’s performance. After a few songs the band started playing ‘Here’s To Us’ and I don’t know what came over me but I made my way to the stage and surprised the band and lead singer CoCo @theadventuresofcocogroves (who is an OG HALESTORM freak by the way). We traded lyrics, sang harmony wise and brought the whole bar together.”

Note: The song contains explicit lyrics that are not suitable for younger viewers.

Hale said it was her first Broadway performance in Nashville and thanked the band, the venue and “the amazing fans for letting me come to the party and for all the kind words and conversations I had with freaks from Canada, Texas, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Washington!”

“Last night the stars aligned and reminded me that we are all just humans searching for connection,” she added. “No matter how scary this world seems, music, art and connection always outshine everything else.”

Hale is best known as the lead singer of Halestorm, a hard rock band she formed with her brother in 1997. The group’s most popular songs include “Here’s to Us”, “Love Bites (So Do I)”, “Freak Like Me”, “Mz. Hyde” and “I Miss the Misery”, as well as cover versions of Lady Gaga, Fleetwood Mac, Soundgarden and Joan Jett.

Hale recently made headlines when she joined Skid Row for several gigs as the lead singer of the band “18 and Life.” Last month, she said she couldn’t commit to a full-time position with Skid Row but hoped to work with them again.

“I am overjoyed,” Hale wrote on Instagram. “I am sending my official request to the universe that we can join forces again in the future.”
