Irish fan (7) in seventh heaven after Taylor Swift gives him her famous hat at a performance

Back home in Dundalk, Shannon didn’t know that her daughter was the happiest Swiftie in all of Ireland.

Mia was with her aunt and her mother’s friend singing and dancing during the sold-out concert when she was chosen to receive the hat.

“They were in the upper tier and during the song Love Story, one of the staff and three security people tapped my sister on the shoulder and took her and Mia down to the field and then Mia waited at the front of the stage.”

Mia’s mother Shannon Green, from Marlmount, Dundalk, had given her daughter, who she describes as “such a big Swiftie”, her own ticket.

“She went with my sister Sarah Durnin and my friend Aishling Dunne. We had bought the tickets so the three of us could go, but in the meantime Mia had become a huge Taylor fan, so I ended up giving her my ticket. She’s such a huge Swiftie and loves all her songs.”

Taylor, who wore a black designer dress

Mia Green from Marlmount Dundalk was chosen to receive Taylor Swift’s famous hat “22”

Fedora by Gladys Tamez and a white T-shirt with the words “This is not Taylor’s version,” knelt and thanked Mia for coming to the show.

She then asked the happy fan if she could hug her before putting the hat on her head.

The hat is similar to the one Taylor wore in the music video for “22,” and it has become a tradition for her to give it to a young fan during her live performances.

After pretending to take a photo of her, the megastar gave Mia a high five before continuing with her show.

As a delighted Mia returned to her seat, all the other young fans around her wanted to take a photo with her and exchange friendship bracelets.

Back home in Dundalk, Shannon didn’t know her daughter was the happiest Swiftie in Ireland that day until she got a message from a friend saying, “I can’t believe this just happened.”

“Then Sarah sent me a picture of Mia with the hat and then all the other messages came in.”

“Mia was overwhelmed because she wasn’t expecting it at all,” said Shannon, who stayed home to look after two-year-old Gracie. “She was on cloud nine and went around on Sunday showing everyone the hat.”

As people contacted her and sent her videos and photos from the concert, Shannon said, “We were overwhelmed throughout the day by all the amazing videos and pictures people took last night. The excitement in our house was unimaginable and all the lovely messages and comments from people who don’t even know Mia made it extra special.”
