State police investigate shooting on highway near Detroit

DETROIT, MI – An investigation is underway after a man reported he was shot multiple times while driving on the highway, Michigan State Police said.

The Detroit Regional Communication Center received a report at 8:30 p.m. of shots fired along northbound M-10 between Warren Avenue and the I-94 on-ramps on Saturday, June 29.

A caller informed the dispatcher that he had been shot.

Officers met the caller near Lodge Service Drive and Clairmont Street. The caller said the driver of a red pickup truck pulled into the right lane and fired three shots at him.

The caller’s vehicle was not hit and there were no other reports of injuries or damage, police said.

Police searched the area for evidence but could not find anything.

“Investigators continue to investigate this incident,” said Lt. Mike Shaw of the State Police. “Anyone who may have witnessed this incident is asked to call 855.MICH.TIP or Crime Stoppers at 800.SPEAK.UP.”
