All fireworks are illegal in Massachusetts, including sparklers, firecrackers, and cherry bombs.

In Massachusetts, people who use fireworks must have a certificate of competency to legally work for professional fireworks displays. It is illegal for residents to use, possess, or sell fireworks of any kind. This includes fireworks legally purchased elsewhere and brought into Massachusetts, sparklers, firecrackers, cherry bombs, and other fireworks. Fines range from $10 to $1,000, and some violations can result in a one-year jail sentence.

In Massachusetts, over 500 fires and explosions have occurred in the last five years due to the use of illegal fireworks, and more than 200 people have required medical treatment for burns and other injuries.
