Tony Khan is looking forward to the NJPW Wrestle Dynasty and would like to bring AEW to Puerto Rico

Tony Khan commented on the newly announced cross-promotional collaboration on NJPW Wrestle Dynasty and a possible trip to Puerto Rico after AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. During Forbidden Door, it was announced that Wrestle Dynasty will take place on January 5, 2025 and will feature NJPW, AEW, STARDOM, CMLL and ROH. Khan spoke about the show and more during the post-show media frenzy and you can see the highlights below:

About Wrestle Dynasty: “It’s really exciting. It’s going to be a big week in Japan; it’s going to be a big week in wrestling. On January 4th and 5th, Wrestle Kingdom and Wrestle Dynasty are going to be at the Tokyo Dome. AEW and ROH will be there. I know CMLL, STARDOM, New Japan Pro Wrestling, it’s really exciting. We’ve had a great working relationship, all the companies involved were here tonight at Forbidden Door. And we’re all going to Japan, it’s going to be really exciting. It’s going to be a great time for AEW, we’re going to start a new year here as well. We’ll have Dynamite and everything else coming up that week. It’s going to be a very important week for the company.

“But we will be working with New Japan Pro Wrestling and supporting both companies and all of our other international partners for the first-ever Wrestle Dynasty in conjunction with Wrestle Kingdom. Very cool.”

About a possible trip to Puerto Rico: “I think it would be great if AEW debuted in Puerto Rico. I would love that, we have AEW in so many great countries and territories around the world. And bringing AEW to Puerto Rico would be another huge milestone in the history of this global wrestling promotion in a country and a territory like Puerto Rico that has an incredible, incredible history of pro wrestling.

“Some of the greatest wrestlers in the world have fought there. And a lot of AEW’s top stars have gone to Puerto Rico and fought there before coming to AEW. Jon Moxley is one of them, and a lot of our top stars have competed and fought there, but we, AEW, have never been there as a company. I think that would absolutely be an incredible milestone for us.”
