Truck driver killed, 10 injured

(MENAFN-UkrinForm) A Russian airstrike on a post office in Nova Kharkiv killed a truck driver and injured ten people.

According to Ukrinform, the state police reported this.

“Today at around 4:30 p.m., the Russian military launched air strikes on Kharkiv. The bomb hit a postal terminal in a residential area. About ten vehicles that were being loaded were destroyed,” the statement said.

According to Volodymyr Timoshko, head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, about nine people could have been in the premises of Nova Post at the time of the enemy ammunition hit.

“A 38-year-old driver was killed, the body is badly mutilated, so a DNA test is being carried out to identify the dead man. Among the ten injured are drivers and postal workers, as well as an eight-month-old child with whom the parents were walking – the child fell onto the sidewalk due to the pressure wave,” police said.

Investigators, forensic experts and explosives technicians are currently on site. Experts are determining which ammunition hit the civilian infrastructure facility.

Due to violation of the laws and customs of war, investigators initiated a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 438 (Violation of the laws and customs of war in connection with intentional murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

As the company Nova Post reported on Facebook, all shift workers were in the air raid shelter and remained unharmed. However, there were casualties among the population and among the truck drivers. Seven trucks were on fire. The terminal was damaged.

As Ukrinform reported, a guided aerial bomb hit a civilian company in Kharkiv. Previously, nine victims and one death had been reported.
