Ariana Grande defends allegations of voice change: It is a “habit”

Ariana Grande’s voice seemed to change drastically mid-sentence in a recent viral interview clip

Ariana Grande addressed the speculation directly in a TikTok comment section

Ariana Grande puts an end to speculation about her voice change.

Over the weekend, a clip from the 30-year-old pop star’s recent appearance on Podcrushed went viral, showing her switching her speaking voice from a lower to a higher register mid-sentence.

The clip quickly caught the attention of social media users and sparked widespread speculation about the reason for her changed vocal pitch.

Grande decided to clarify things directly in the comments section of a TikTok video discussing the clip.

“Habit (of speaking like this for two years) and also vocal health :),” she explained.

“I intentionally change my vocal pitch (high/low) often depending on how much I’m doing,” she explained, adding a crying emoji.

“I’ve always done it this way, BYE,” Grande concluded, putting an end to the speculation once and for all.

When the clip first went viral, fans were divided. Some criticized the Evil Star for a seemingly intentional voice change.

However, many others defended her, comparing her situation to that of Austin Butler, whose voice changed significantly while portraying Elvis Presley and reportedly took some time to return to normal.
