England survives scare against Slovakia and secures place in the quarter-finals of the Euro 2024

England survived a scare to secure their place in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024 by beating Slovakia 2-1 in extra time.

Gareth Southgate’s The team fell behind in the 25th minute when Ivan Schranz gave Slovakia a surprise lead, and as the match went into injury time, it seemed as if the team was already exiting the tournament.

But Jude Bellingham had a brilliant moment and scored the spectacular equaliser a few seconds before the end, sending the round of 16 into extra time.

Captain Harry Kane gave England an early lead in the first half of extra time and the team held on to it despite some nervous moments.

Bellingham told reporters the team’s success would spur them on for the rest of the competition and described his goal as “one of the most important moments of my career so far.”

Southgate’s team will now face Switzerland in Euro 2024 Quarterfinals on Saturday.

If they reach the last four, they would play a semi-final on Wednesday, July 10.
