Taylor Swift gets stuck on stage at concert in Dublin when dancer has to step in

Taylor Swift got stuck on a platform on the third and final night of her Dublin shows. The 34-year-old is in the Irish capital to perform the European leg of her Eras tour, which has so far spanned five continents and fifteen countries.

The evening went like clockwork, there were a few Irish sayings, performances by stars like Julia Roberts and Stevie Nicks and surprise songs that thrilled the fans. Until the icon got stranded on stage.

The Fortnight singer was a little too high while belting out The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived from her latest album The Tortured Poets Department. The platform malfunctioned and she was temporarily left hanging in the air.

The Aviva Stadium platform was supposed to be lowered, but it wasn’t lowered. Swift had to find a way out of the heights and one of her dancers had to jump in and save the global star.

A clip circulating on social media shows Swift sitting on the edge of the platform, eyeing the jump, but ultimately not having to make it. The dancer gently intervenes to help her take the leap.

Swift had suffered a sprained ankle and was able to complete her final night in Dublin without any further mechanical problems. The megastar performed her range of music from different eras, including Folklore, her eighth studio album.

The talented musician told his fans that the cabin from the album “belongs in Ireland.” “But let’s be honest,” Swift told the audience on Saturday. “The folklore cabin and folklore in general belongs in Ireland. That’s just the way it is.”

As the sun set over the massive venue, Swift added: “Conceptually, we all agree that folklore belongs to you.” Swift has a rich history with the Irish capital and can even trace her roots back to Co Derry. To watch the video, click here.
