The Penn Museum will host the weekly open-air concert series Garden Jams starting July 10

Music lovers can hang out in the Penn Museum’s historic Stoner Courtyard while listening to live music and sipping cocktails during a concert series in July.

The Penn Museum’s Garden Jams return on Wednesday, July 11, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will continue weekly through the end of the month, with different artists performing at each event.

The West Philadelphia Orchestra (WPO) will open the performances on July 11 with original music by the band members.

“We’ve had a lot of fun in the past – strolling through the gardens and fountains, strutting around with the kids and creating a wide, free-flowing environment,” WPO founder Gregg Mervine said in a press release about Garden Jams.

Other artists featured in this summer’s series include Zydeco-a-Go-Go on July 17, Glenn Bryan and Friends on July 24, and Guachinangos on July 31.

Each Garden Jams concert features happy hour cocktails, food trucks in the courtyard, and after-hours access to the museum’s galleries and exhibits.

General admission is $15, tickets are $5 for PennCard holders and free for Penn Museum members. After-hours admission to the museum until 8 p.m. is included in the ticket. Private tables and add-on experiences such as pre-paid beverages and private museum tours can be purchased in advance.
