Chris Pratt sparks DCU rumors after visiting Superman set

Filming for James Gunn’s Superman Now that we’re taking off, we’re excited for the updates and reveals that come with each passing day. Of course, given Gunn’s frequent social media use, we expect plenty of both. But a recent snapshot has sparked further speculation, with fans wondering if Star-Lord could storm the DCU following a set visit from Chris Pratt.

When TMZ approached him about the photo, Pratt diabolically – and jokingly – put his hands together as if a plan had been hatched to introduce him into the DCU. Of course, he didn’t directly confirm or deny the potential, saying: “Well, there’s always the possibility. Of course, I couldn’t ruin it with you here on the sidewalk… (I could), but I’d rather not.” When asked if there was a particular character Pratt would like to play for DC, he added: “Man, I have to leave that up to the fans and people like James. I’m not entirely sure, I’m really not sure.”

Chris Pratt and James Gunn are of course quite close, they worked together on the Protector of the Galaxy trilogy. Pratt even mentioned that he would be in if his schedule allowed and there was a logical reason for him to join the DCU. Still, considering that Pratt has said he would love to continue playing Star-Lord and a clear move from the MCU to the DCU seems unprecedented given the embedded studio rivalry, we don’t really expect the actor to actually sign on to any projects anytime soon. Supported by the point that Marvel is gearing up Avengers: Infinity War – The incredible journey through the wild and it just feels highly unlikely that this is all in sight.

On the other hand, Chris Pratt has not hidden his interest in joining the DCU in the past and James Gunn has said that an MCU/DCU crossover is quite possible. Although he claimed last year that he had not actually spoken to Gunn about the prospect, he did appear on the Superman sparked rumors that he and the director might have met about the matter after all.
