Cricket star Virat Kohli posted a sweet message on Instagram expressing his appreciation to his wife Anushka Sharma. A day after his team India lifted the T20 World Cup trophy, Virat paid Anushka the appreciation she deserves for always being by his side.

“None of this would be even remotely possible without you my love. You keep me humble and grounded and always tell it like it is with complete honesty. I couldn’t be more grateful. This win is as much yours as it is mine. Thank you and I love you for being YOU @anushkasharma,” he wrote in his post.

Anushka’s message for Virat

Anushka Sharma also penned a heartwarming post for Virat Kohli after India’s second T20 World Cup victory since 2007, calling the star batsman “my home”.

Kohli, who played a part in the 2011 ODI World Cup victory, scored his first fifty of the tournament in the final against South Africa on Saturday – 76 from 59 balls with six fours and two sixes that guided India to a competitive 176 from seven.

He also announced his retirement from T20 Internationals after leading the Men in Blue to their second T20 World Cup victory and being named Man of the Match in Bridgetown, Barbados.

Sharma, who watched the match on television, shared the post on Instagram shortly after the team emerged victorious from the thrilling final.

“AND… I love this man @viratkohli. I’m so grateful to call you my home – now drink a glass of mineral water for me to celebrate!” she wrote under Kohli’s picture with the trophy in his hand.

Vamika’s sweet question

In a separate post, the actor, who has daughter Vamika (three) and four-month-old son Akaay with the cricketer, congratulated the Indian national team on this remarkable achievement.

“Our daughter’s biggest worry was whether all the players would have someone to hug them after seeing them crying on TV… Yes my darling, they were hugged by 1.5 billion people. What a phenomenal win and what a legendary performance!! CHAMPIONS – CONGRATULATIONS!!,” wrote Anushka.

The celebrity couple married in 2017 after dating for several years.
