The Eras Tour has been travelling the world for over a year now, and Taylor Swift and her crew of dancers and backing singers have become acquainted with their routines. However, not everything always goes as planned, and whether Swift will manage to Jokes caused by a wardrobe malfunction or try clear water from her piano during the performance Surprise songs in a rainstorm, she proved she can adapt to unexpected situations. At Saturday’s stop in Dublin, Ireland, however, it was backing dancer Jan Ravnik who was the real star during a stage malfunction – and there’s video of the entire situation.
Taylor Swift was stuck on a raised platform on stage as she performed part of the new set of The “Tortured Poets” section. The platforms around her, which had formed a staircase, descended to stage level, but the singer’s remained about 1.5 meters high. She looked around briefly before realizing that Jan Ravnik had come to her aid. Watch the moment captured by a fan on X (Twitter) below:

Thankfully, Jan Ravnik is not “the smallest man who ever lived,” because he was able to lift Taylor Swift up and safely bring her to the stage, and she didn’t even miss a note. That’s two pros! In fact, their improvisation was so smooth that the audience didn’t even seem to react to the technical glitch.
Swifties were quick to praise the dancer in the comments on the post, saying:
- And he laid them down so gracefully, oh my God – adoraweisz
- He made it look flawless, oh my god – yvelitza13
- It was hardly noticeable because Taylor and Jan reacted so smartly and quickly, no panic on the Eras Tour – PaulaFreese
- what a man – canubaileeveit
- And that’s why we are a fan of him – tswiftth0
There is no doubt that Jan Ravnik is one of Swifties’ favorite dancers, and it wasn’t long ago that he had his own harrowing moment on the Eras Tour. In the opening moments of a show in Edinburgh, Scotland – during which the dancers enter the stage with large fans on their backs – Ravnik was almost blown over by strong winds and had to be assisted by another crew member.
Of course, anything can happen during a live performance, and the June 29 incident was not the first stage mishap Taylor Swift has experienced on the Eras Tour. In July 2023, the “So High School” singer had to sprint backstage when a technical issue prevented her from being lowered below the stage for a quick costume change. Swift even joked about Comment on the viral TikTok video.
It’s fun to experience these unexpected moments, and as a Swiftie myself, I love knowing that Jan Ravnik and the rest of the Eras Tour crew have Taylor Swift’s back and are there to protect her when something goes wrong.
