Filming on Disney’s controversial live-action remake of Snow White is FINALLY complete

Filming on Disney’s controversial live-action remake of Snow White is FINALLY complete

Last October we learned that Disney had Snow White Remake one year after a seemingly never-ending stream of negative headlines in the mainstream media.

However, to appease those upset about the alleged changes to the beloved story, the studio released a cartoon-accurate shot of Rachel Zegler’s Disney princess alongside the seven dwarves. Unfortunately, this backfired, as the rough state of the visual effects was laughed at and many accused the studio of cobbling the picture together in a hurry.

Why? Well, we had previously heard that there were no plans for the seven dwarves to Snow Whitethe plan was instead to focus on a group of politically correct “bandits.” After the massive delay in the release date, Disney apparently reacted quickly and threw them into the mix with extensive reshoots, which lead actress Rachel Zegler says are now complete.

Yes, two years later Snow White Filming has begun and the cameras are finally rolling. Next up is a lengthy post-production process to hopefully get Marc Webb’s film where it needs to be.

It has been widely reported that the film’s tests before reshoots went poorly, and insiders are not holding out much hope that this additional filming can save Disney’s latest live-action remake.

To appease fans, the studio even claimed that the set photos of Snow White and her bandits were fake. This statement will likely haunt them as much as it did when they lied and said our first look at Solo: A Star Wars Story wasn’t the real thing!

“To choose gratitude and thankfulness is to choose peace,” Zegler recently spoke about the criticism she faced for her role as Snow White. “Even though you might want to verbally remind people that the spotlight doesn’t absolve you of your humanity – that you’re allowed to have human moments – it doesn’t necessarily do what you hope it will. It just spurs them on even more.”

“So it’s about being present and knowing that they’re probably just having a really hard day. And I’m releasing a movie,” she concluded.

Marc Webb (The Incredible Spiderman) stages Snow White based on a script by Barbie Director Greta Gerwig and playwright Erin Cressida Wilson.

As for the confirmed cast, the film stars Rachel Zegler as Snow White, Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, Ansu Kabia as the Huntsman, Martin Klebba as Grumpy, and Andrew Burnap as Jonathan.

Snow White is now scheduled to hit theaters on March 21, 2025.
