Local youth create original song and music video for Artown Festival | News

This weekend, the nonprofit youth services organization Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada is partnering with several organizations to give six young teens the opportunity to create their own song and music video.

You do this on the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus.

The bus is equipped with high-quality music equipment and the organizers of the project show the teenagers all the possibilities that exist in the music industry.

“Path development is an important part of the bus. It’s designed to show kids that there are lots of other jobs in related industries. It’s not just about the star standing center stage, but also audio, video, production and photography people,” says Brian Rothschild, co-founder of the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus.

The producers and engineers will accompany the young people throughout the entire process.

Every teenager can contribute in many ways and learn new skills along the way.

For one of the teenagers, this opportunity was a unique way to learn more about one of his passions.

“I love guitar, but I’ve never had the motivation or time to play guitar. I feel like it’s a huge inspiration for me to play guitar with other people and meet someone like Jeremy Renner, who I think has a huge passion for guitar and music,” said Ian.

On Monday, everyone working on the song and music video will be able to present it to the public during the opening night of the Artown Festival at Wingfield Park Amphitheater.
