Taylor Swift tells concertgoers at Aviva Stadium that Folklore Cottage “belongs in Ireland”

Taylor Swift has told her numerous fans at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium that the cottage from her eighth studio album Folklore “belongs in Ireland”.

More than 50,000 people will be entertained by the pop sensation over three evenings in the Irish capital when the 34-year-old powerhouse presents pop hits for three hours as part of her Eras Tour.

Swift has brought the magical folk cottage to five continents and fifteen countries. The magical house with the moss-covered roof is a spectacle on stage – but the icon has revealed that it belongs on the Emerald Isle.

“But let’s be honest,” Swift told the audience on Saturday night. “The folk hut and folklore in general belong in Ireland. That’s just the way it is.”

As the sun set over the massive venue, Swift added: “Conceptually, we all agree that folklore just belongs to you.” Swift has always had ties to the Irish capital and can even trace her roots back to Co Derry.

She wrote the 17-track album two days after the start of the 2020 coronavirus pandemic and said she was dreaming of the Irish countryside and picturesque landscapes.

“I had to create an album where the imaginary world I pretended to travel to every day while writing felt – to be honest – a bit like Ireland,” she confessed.
