Sylvester Stallone action thriller “Alarum” acquired by Signature for the UK (EXCLUSIVE)

Signature Entertainment has acquired the UK and Irish rights to Sylvester Stallone (“King of Tulsa”) Action thriller “Alarum” from Highland Film Group.

The film is produced and financed by Convergence Entertainment Group (“Cash Out”), directed by Michael Polish (“Force of Nature”) from a screenplay by Alexander Vesha (“Deadly Impact”). The film stars Scott Eastwood (“Fast X”) and Stallone.

Alarum follows former assassin duo Joe and Lara Travers as they hide out at a Belize resort when a plane crashes nearby. After recovering a top-secret USB stick from the crash, the pair are drawn back into their dark past and must fend off government agents determined to recover the stick.

The deal was negotiated between Signature’s Chief Commercial Officer Elizabeth Williams and Todd Olsson, President of International Distribution for Highland Film Group, which manages the international rights to the action film.

“Everyone loves the legend Sly Stallone – we are delighted to once again be working with our friends at Highland on such an engaging film and We couldn’t be more excited to bring this twisted spy action thriller to UK and Irish audiences,” said Williams.

Signature recently unveiled Pike River, a dramatic thriller set and filmed in New Zealand that revolves around one of the country’s worst disasters in modern history. Melanie Lynskey and Robyn Malcolm star in the film, which Signature is presenting at Cannes. The company is also distributing the crime comedy Riff Raff, which sees Bill Murray join a cast that also includes Jennifer Coolidge (“The White Lotus”), Ed Harris (“Love Lies Bleeding”), Gabrielle Union (“The Inspection”), Lewis Pullman (“Top Gun: Maverick”), Emanuela Postacchini (“Robots”), Miles J. Harvey (“American Vandal”) and Pete Davidson (“The King of Staten Island”).
