Be glad you’re not Chris Bassitt now.
The Toronto Blue Jays right-hander made six throws in his start against the New York Yankees on Saturday before a line drive hit him in the throwing arm. What made it worse? The ball came off Aaron Judge’s bat and was absolutely rad. The ball was traveling at 102 miles per hour when it hit Bassitt’s forearm.

Ouch.
It didn’t take long for a visible welt to appear on his arm.

All I can say is that Bassitt’s toughness should never be questioned, because somehow he managed to stay in the game. Despite this incredibly painful experience, the 35-year-old pitched six innings, allowed six hits and one unearned run, struck out eight players, and allowed two walks. Through this effort, he lowered his ERA to 3.24 and left the game with an 8-1 Toronto lead.
Bassitt entered the game 6-6 with a 3.45 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP. He stepped onto the mound and shut down the Yankees, earning a ton of respect in the process. No one would have questioned him leaving the game after getting knocked down by that Judge screamer.
