AMC Networks greenlights untitled Jonathan Glatzer series

AMC Networks announced that it has greenlit an untitled drama series from AMC Studios for AMC and AMC+. Writer and showrunner Jonathan Glatzer is known for Succession, Evil SistersAnd Better call Saul and we can’t wait! Ready?

Here we go!

Set in the bubble of Silicon Valley, amid misguided corporate cultures, swanky innovation labs, and unforgiving private schools, our story sees a scandal sparked by the exploitation of personal data, stemming from a dispute between a self-proclaimed tech CEO, the “inventor of the future,” and his self-serving “performance psychologist.”

This act of corruption quickly spirals out of control for everyone involved, revealing the absurdity of ambition and corporate ethics, as well as the fallibility of the people who shape the future of our world.

“Get ready for a compelling, gripping and authentic look behind the scenes of Silicon Valley,” said Dan McDermott, President of Entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks. “Jonathan is a tremendous talent and AMC is fortunate to be the home of this, his first series creation. The show, which tells the lives of characters who are creating the world we will all live in, is right here and now. The truth is stranger than fiction, especially here.”

“The tech world and the future it offers is in the hands of some frighteningly self-centered people. They exude a bizarre, almost godlike energy, but even they can’t escape their own humanity. So rather than do anything directly with ‘tech,’ I wanted to focus on the people. And not just the titans, but the nervous wannabes, the wannabes’ children and spouses; their housekeepers, their schools, their psychiatrists, their dogs and gurus alike, all living in this bubble where they truly – and perhaps rightly – believe they are inventing the future, dogs excluded,” Glatzer said.

“I couldn’t be happier to be doing this with AMC. At a time when networks are looking for quick and surprising surprises, I delivered a dark, comedic curveball to them and, to their great credit, they gave me nothing but the greatest support a writer could ask for,” he concluded.

Jonathan Glatzer’s new series will premiere soon on the AMC Network.
